Leadership development
that lands in daily work.

Making leadership work by having leaders work on what actually occupies them day to day. For us, leadership development is a means to an end: a leadership team becomes more effective together, sets ambitious goals and reaches them. And creates an environment where performance is enjoyable. As a program for a whole leadership level or as a confidential 1:1.

The trigger

Leadership teams make time for many things.
Just not for sharpening the axe.

Yet that is exactly where the biggest lever for better collaboration sits. It usually takes a trigger before a leadership team makes that time. Three we see again and again:

Scenario#1

“Brace for impact”
A profound change is coming, and the date is known.

A change at the top, a merger, a spin-off, the company growing or shrinking considerably. The leadership team wants to prepare for it.

Scenario#2

“The damage is done”
It has happened, and support is needed right now.

The boss resigns, results fail to show despite a shared strategy, a team needs a timeout. The leadership team wants to reshuffle the deck.

Scenario#3

“Surfing ahead of the wave”
Nothing is pending, nothing is on fire. Acting instead of reacting.

No external trigger, but the ambition to stay ahead: new ways of working together, AI as a leadership topic, more value from the differences within the team. The leadership team wants to find the levers to get even better.

What we offer

Two formats, one principle.

The choice of format follows the trigger. What both share: someone from outside who names what stays unspoken inside the company.

Format#1

The program
for the leadership team

Several modules over a few months for a leadership team or a whole leadership level. The goal: a shared language for leadership and routines that last.

  • ScopeThree to five modules over six to twelve months, 5 to 15 people, two facilitators from 12 upwards.
  • TriggersChange at the top, merger, missing results, new ways of working together, AI as a leadership topic.
  • How we workAnonymous pre-interviews as the entry point, content drawn from the interviews, practice phases between modules.
  • StanceWhat everyone knows and nobody says reaches the table in the first module. You cannot solve what you will not name.

Format#2

The confidential 1:1
for the individual leader

Coaching and sparring for leaders who often know where to go, but not how. Advisors who understand, challenge and help you stay on it.

  • ScopeSix to ten sessions over a few months, one leader, remote after the kick-off if preferred.
  • TriggersFirst leadership role, next level, leading former peers, difficult conversations.
  • How we workConcrete situations from everyday leadership, agreements are checked at the next session.
  • StanceWe do not just ask questions. We say what we think and let the result be the measure.

How every program begins

The mind map from the pre-interviews.

A real diagnosis from a leadership team, anonymized. Every voice counts equally, nobody has to expose themselves in front of the team. The first module starts with this picture: the topics are on the table before anyone has to say them out loud.

Mind map from the pre-interviews with a leadership team: sales organization, four topic areas (German)
Example of a leadership team: board and first reporting line of a sales organization, anonymized. Original in German.

How we run development programs

With us it does not feel like work.
It is, though.

Hard, honest and with a result that holds. Every program follows the same three steps.

00

Pre-interviews

Anonymous interviews with everyone involved, condensed into a mind map.

01

Name it

In the first module, what everyone knows and nobody says reaches the table. You cannot solve what you will not name.

02

Simplify

Twenty topics become three priorities, and everyone in the room sees what is dropped and why. The team sets its own agenda.

03

Deliver and stay on it

At the end of each module it is clear who does what by when. At the next module, it is on the table.

Alongside

Pit stops

Short reviews between the modules and after the program: what holds, what sticks, what needs a push?

After the program

How a leadership team notices the difference.

Change#1Decisions are made in the meeting, not afterwards in the hallway.

Change#2Conflicts reach the table while they are still small.

Change#3A leader resolves difficult situations themselves that used to escalate.

Change#4Agreements hold, even when daily business takes over.

Frequently asked

Frequently asked about leadership development.

What is leadership development with Die Dranbleiber?
Not a seminar, but a program over months that works on the real topics of a leadership team: as a program for a whole leadership level or as a confidential 1:1.
Who is leadership development with Die Dranbleiber for?
For leadership teams and individual leaders in companies from the Mittelstand to large corporations. Typically division and department heads, managing directors and leaders in a new role. The industry matters less than the situation.
Program or one-on-one: which fits when?
The program fits when a whole leadership level needs to become more effective together and needs a shared language and shared routines to do so. The confidential 1:1 fits an individual leader in a new role, in the middle of change or under pressure to decide. Often the two interlock: a program for the level, sparring for individual key people.
How long does a program take?
Usually three to five modules over six to twelve months, with practice phases in between. A 1:1 typically runs six to ten sessions. We settle the exact scope in the first conversation.
How does the collaboration start?
With a free first conversation: 30 to 45 minutes by video, directly with one of the three partners. A concrete proposal with format, scope and price follows. Before the first module we conduct the pre-interviews.
How does a leadership team notice the difference after the program?
Routines change: decisions are made in the meeting, conflicts reach the table early, agreements hold. In short pit stops between the modules and after the program we check what has held.
Remote or on site, in Cologne or anywhere?
Modules preferably on site, especially the kick-off. Sparring and follow-ups often run remotely. We are based in Cologne and work across the German-speaking region and internationally, in English on request.
